What's in a Name?

People sometimes ask about the name — Reia Dawn of Ley & Sea — and what it's all about. Here's the story.

It's actually a rearrangement of my given birth name, shaped into something that reflects how I want to show up in the world, and how I want my art to show up, too.

Reia = Ray | Dawn = Morning | Ley = Meadow | Sea = Ocean

Put it all together: a ray of morning light over the earth and sea. Or simply — morning light in service of nature.

At the heart of it, I want my work to celebrate the earth, her children, and the mystical worlds that live inside us as part of creation. To shine a little light on Earth’s beauty, ours as humans, and maybe remind us how lucky we are to call this place home.
